2013: The Year of Marc Marquez. The Spanish rookie is certainly no stranger to the world of motorcycle racing having twice been a world champion. Big things were expected of him but no-one anticipated just what he d achieve in his first year in motorcycle racing s premier class. Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa were as impressive as always in pre-season testing and Britain s Cal Crutchlow was showing promise on the Tech3 Monster Energy Yamaha. Stefan Bradl had people talking about his performances on the LCR Honda and Gresini s Alvaro Bautista had found a good run of form.
