Been using this for a while now. Great for hiking trips so u do t have to carry a big camera. However, pic quality is not the same as a DSLR. I hate the battery. It dies so fast. I ended up buying extra batteries and now I have to carry those with me as well. I wish the battery life could’ve been better. There were several moments where I was gonna capture a video/pic but the battery died on me.

I ordered this product for an industrial application and discovered in set up today that there ZERO backward compatibility for Win 7* and NO backward compatibility to run the GoPro app on my older but low SAR Android smart phone. GoPro confirmed these compatibility deficiencies in our little chat session. The chat support person did not offer a viable work around.
We’re going to try a work-around found in a Google search. There are other video editors ‘out there.’ But there is no cell phone remote control for the current model of the Hero 7 / black available if you aren’t using the latest smart phones, whether Apple or Android).
If I owned GoPro stock, learning of this deficiency would result in an immediate sale of my holdings. GoPro as a company is obviously not serious about market share, customer satisfaction or customer retention. In their defense, not everyone is interested in what a wide range of customers value — GoPro has the right to cater to those few who join their ‘user cult’ – nothing wrong with that. But its a disappointment for users who value functionality over owning the latest version of every thing regardless of true relevance.
*As an aside: You will still receive security patches for Win 7 for years and years to come folks – there is no need to suffer Win 10. Don’t buy into the no security updates tactics. They are not factual. Therefore, any efforts to discontinue backward compatibility with a desk top app are a disservice to GoPro users.

So far so good. Battery actually lasts longer than i thought. Picture is amazing and seems like a solid product.

The camera came quickly. It takes nice videos when it works. I find it keeps on freezing up. The GoPro site said it could be the SD card or it needs a software update. I tried 3 camera cards and I updated it as soon as I got it out of the box. Not happy how it is always freezing up and only way to unfreeze it is to take out the battery. Did read on GoPro site to try and hold the mode button in To unfreeze it. Hope I don’t have to try that tip tomorrow when I use it again while riding. Disappointed in the $300 headache I now own. Wish I didn’t make this purchase.

The product works as intended, but where the battery and SD card are located is difficult to open. The button was broken on mine, and the sliding function does not work at all. I have to use a finger to hold down the button, and my other fingernail to jam in there (I’ve lost a few fingernails), to get it to open. As a result, this product was a waste of money for me. Not a good experience.

I was looking for a GP7 and this came with extra battery, MicrosSD card ( not the best, but good to start) and a floater stick for the price of GP 7 alone in other sites. Are like a $50 in extra items.. good deal. I gave 4 start to battery life but everybody knows that GP are not the best in that area.
